As millions of Americans hunker down for the winter storm, 19 states and Washington, D.C., have declared states of emergency.
Several emergency declarations have already been issued as a massive winter storm barrels toward more than 35 states, putting more than 200 million people in its path and threatening “considerable disruption” to New York with up to a foot of snow.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for much of central and south Indiana beginning on Saturday, Jan. 24. For the state's southern counties, that advisory has been upgraded to a winter storm warning.
