Apple has released a Java patch for its aging Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard operating system. The release comes on the heels of the sweeping Java software security update released by owner Oracle Corp.

Note that Oracle has a rolling 4-month patching cycle for Java: patches are released every two months with security patches occupying one two-month slot and bug fixes / enhancements the other slot.
