When Rust 1.0 was released ten years ago, it was accompanied by a promise: the compiler should still be able to translate any code written with version 1.0 decades later with current Rust versions.

Microsoft and Linux are adding AI and Rust to their pipelines. Microsoft is leaning much harder into AI development than Linux. Both are expanding Rust, but neither OS will be fully Rust soon.
